Chiswick Youth Football Club

Club Ethos:

The ethos at the club is that we always try and promote a friendly atmosphere and always try to accommodate players of all abilities. We feel part of the local community with teams being predominantly populated by boys coming from Acton, Chiswick, Hammersmith and Shepherds Bush. It’s a great club to mix with other young people from different schools and very much feels part of the local community. We find that our players tend to stay with the club for many years and the parents or guardians of the players are also very much encouraged to be part of the club. At the end of each season we have a family fun day which allows the players family and friends to come along to a summer BBQ to celebrate their efforts.

All of our coaches are certified to FA level 1 standards with 2 coaches taking their level 2 tests in the current season. Our aim is to develop the players, concentrating on skills and technique. We prioritise their long term development over short term success. This has benefited the club with consistent success in league and cups and the players often going onto represent their schools, boroughs or being selected for professional academies.

Safeguarding children:

Our number 1 priority will always be the safety of our players. All of our coaches are trained in emergency aid and have undertaken safeguarding children courses. All adults involved in supervising the players are DBS certified and the club has a Welfare Officer to deal with any issues relating to player safety.

The club has been running since 1998, originally called Old Actonians Youth and playing their matches at Old Actonians FC. In 2000 the club moved location and changed name to Park Place FC (also in Acton) and remained there for a further 2 years until the adult club went into administration. At this point the club moved to Hounslow Borough again affiliated to a senior football team. In 2004 the club became known as Osterley Royals and played their matches at Warren Farm. In 2006 the club finally settled in Chiswick and became Chiswick Youth ending nearly a decade of nomadic behaviour. In the past 10 years the club has successfully run a number of teams winning several honours at various age groups.
